New Method to Accelerate Weight Loss Discovered

Image
Beige fat is a type of fat tissue which uses energy to generate heat. Its ability to create heat and consume calories has been experimented with to accelerate weight loss, but a new method utilizing the tissue has been discovered. A collection of studies that were attempting to uncover how to activate these calorie devouring cells reached the same conclusion. They cite that beige fat stimulation relies upon the signaling of specific interleukins (protein cells) and the activation of adipose tissue macrophages (immune system defense cells). Peter Tontonoz, who is an expert on lipid signalling at the University of California, Los Angeles, suggests that there’s an immune pathway that regulates thermogenesis. Beige fat is an energy-burning form of tissue that is embedded in white fat (the energy storing kind: what most people are targeting during weight loss). The objective in this fat burning process is to turn white fat into beige fat, which would essentially lead it to burning ...

New Fasted Cardio Study Falsifies the Myth of Superior Long Term 4 Week Fat Loss on a Moderate Energy Deficit

Image
If we go by the convincing results of the study at hand, the fasted cardio myth is obviously busted. Sometimes the day youve been waiting for comes faster than youd thought... no, I am not talking about a teens eighteens birthday or Christmas (reminds me, I still have to buy a ton of presents), but rather of the recently hinted at "fasted cardio study" by Brad Jon Schoenfeld, Alan Albert Aragon, Colin D Wilborn, James W Krieger and Gul T Sonmez. The study of which I wrote only 2 days ago in my article about the 50% increase in fatty acid oxidation in fasted vs. fed morning cardio (learn more). And it is in fact the study which may finally solve the "Is fasted cardio good for your weight loss?"-question. In contrast to the previously discussed paper, Schoenfeld et al. who started with the common hypothesis that "performing aerobic exercise after an overnight fast accelerates the loss of body fat" (Schoenfeld. 2014), did not content themselves with measures ...

New Years Resolution 1 Eat More Raw Food How Raw Foods Can Alter Bad Genes

Image
Raw fruits, berries and vegetables can mitigate bad genes Follow Foods For Long Life on FACEBOOK ! The Power of Food      One of my strongest beliefs about food appears in my quote on the right hand side of this page.      " Health, excellent or ill, is passed to our children not just through our genes but primarily through our recipes".      People often live in fear of getting a disease that their parents have. I know so many people who had one or more parents die from a heart attack, or some other disease, and they are unconsciously waiting for the same thing to happen to them. You dont have to do that. You can take control of your destiny and fight back with a healthful diet.       Most of the illnesses you fear that your parents are passing to you (and the ones their parents gave to them) were passed in the form of dietary traditions. If you ever get a heart attack, it could be from Moms 3 meat stromboli recipe that ...

Virgin Cosmo Are You Celebrating the End of 2010 or Just Glad That Its Over? There are many years when we feel blessed and look back with joy over the many happy events that transpired. And then there are times when we end the year feeling as though we were run over by a freight train and are just happy to see it end.  In either case, whether we are joyous or trying to drown our sorrows, tradition has us breaking out the hooch. The beginning of a year should bring us new goals and hope for the future. We need to feel our best and start the year grounded and inspired. Unfortunately, many a new year’s celebration leaves us crawling out of the bed the next morning wondering how we are going to get through the day, no less the next year. I’m not saying to skip that New Year’s Eve party. I’d just like to share some tips on how to have a good time and not regret it in the morning. Feeling good about yourself Whenever I drink a glass of club soda or some faux alcoholic concoction, I ...
